
Colleen Coghlan is a senior communications consultant for Navigators based out of the Sacramento, California, office.
Ms. Coghlan assists with strategic communications development, implementation and evaluation, including research, written communications, marketing collateral and media editorial. Ms. Coghlan has fine tuned her communications skills by crafting and executing multi-faceted public relations plans, as well as providing account management to clients.
Prior to joining Navigators, Ms. Coghlan was an account supervisor at Strat@comm, LLC, a public relations firm in Washington, D.C., where she led day-to-day efforts with Amtrak, promoting their Great American Stations initiative to key public officials and the local business communities across the nation on the benefits of station renovation. She also played a primary role on infrastructure accounts where she provided public outreach strategies and communications services, and served as project spokesperson on a $2.4 billion large scale mega-project where she was in frequent communications with the news media and the public.
In addition, Ms. Coghlan has held internship positions on Capitol Hill, with public relations firms in Sacramento and San Jose and on the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign. As an intern, Ms. Coghlan’s work involved writing press releases and proposals, compiling media lists and pitching events and stories, helping to coordinate successful news conferences and grassroots coalition building.
Ms. Coghlan is a graduate from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She also studied with the Institute for the Education of Students in London where she served as a journalist and research assistant for The European Foundation.
